This is the copper disk with gold inlay that was found by workmen
Working to clear the topsoil away from the top of mouselow Quarry near Glossop In Derbyshire, Britain in the year 1962.

This is the only known plan of the stone Slabs where the disk was found The disk was found under the middle stone which has the shape of an alter top having a razed edge. The stones around the alter may have been the support and base for the alter stone,the size of the alter stone is about 5 foot by 4 foot and is limestone the Surrounding stones are glacial stones from a river bed, all the stones from the alter have been destroyed in the process of quarrying... In this area the year 1854 five stones were found the stones had unusual markings and have never been properly recorded . These five stones where loaned to The Manchester University Museum, In 1980 the stones were sold to the Buxton Museum for a small sum.
